THREE EXCITING EVENTS!!! 11/20 & 23 11/17/2010
NOVEMBER 20th-Saturday: 1)CINCINNATI UNCHAINED: Melt & Picnic and Pantry will donate 5% of sales to Lighthouse Youth Services 1 day. Over 50 locations. Shop local and unchain yourself! CityBeat's Best of Cincinnati 2008 "Best Retail Promotion" is back on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Shop local-only for one day, and help your economy, community, and neighbors. http://www.buycincy.com/unchained.html Every dollar you spend at a locally-owned business generates approximately three times more economic activity than a dollar spent at the typical "big-box." By choosing to shop locally-owned for just one day, we can help support the local entrepreneurs in our own neighborhoods who help make Cincinnati unique. To help celebrate Cincinnati Unchained, local businesses from around Greater Cincinnati are offering special one day only deals on November 20. In addition these specials, BuyCincy will be giving away gift baskets filled with goodies from participating local businesses. All you need to do to be entered to win is visit local businesses throughout the day. CRAFTY SUPERMARKET: 2)Our Market, Picnic and Pantry will be vending delicious foods & beverages! Inspired by indie craft shows in other cities, Grace Dobush and Alisha Budkie wanted to bring together crafters, shoppers and friends of craft in Cincinnati. Though they both lived in Clifton, they first met at a craft convention in Washington, DC. Chris Salley joined the team shortly after the first show. Crafty Supermarket isn’t your typical church-basement craft show. We seek indie crafters, punk artists, DIYers and other unconventional makers who put a lot of value on locally made goods. Our first show in November 2009 at the Northside Tavern included 20 such vendors and attracted more than 1,000 shoppers. The second Crafty Supermarket was at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center fromApril 17, 2010, with 50 craft vendors and 1,600 shoppers! The next show will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. We’ll have more than 50 crafters, a live DJ from PROJECTMILL and delicious food from Dojo Gelato, Cafe de Wheels, Sweet Peace Bakery, La Terza Coffee and Picnic and Pantry. The Clifton Cultural Arts Center in the Gaslight District is at 3711 Clifton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45220. It’s right at the corner of Clifton and McAlpin avenues.
